The European University Association has published a survey report titled Doctoral education in Europe: current developments and trends (available here). It provides an up-to-date overview of important developments in doctoral education in Europe based on responses from 28 countries. The report outlines the strategic priorities and the main thematic areas in which European universities are engaging in the field of doctoral education, as well as providing insights into the current situation of postdoctoral researchers in these countries.
A recent article in Inside Higher Ed (available here) titled Investing in Part-Time Faculty Success Supports Student Success aims to understand the various goals and motivations of these key contributors to the educational mission to ensure that they feel valued, recognised, supported and included in college operations. The article also suggests ways to support these members of staff, including through professional development opportunities and dedicated physical work spaces.
