Quality Board for Higher Education in Iceland

Institution-Wide Review

Institution-Wide reviews cover how a university manages and enhances the quality of the students’ learning experience, how it safeguards the standards of awards, and manages research activities.

For each review, the Board commissions a team of independent international experts and one Icelandic student.

The university submits a self-assessment report, or Reflective Analysis, to the review team, after which the team visits the university to interview university management, staff, students and stakeholders. In the resulting review report, two confidence judgments are made. One judgment is about the university’s management of quality, and the other about its safeguarding of standards. Commentary is also provided on the university‘s management of research.
